On Churchill Downs' www.KentuckyDerbyParty.com, its official online resource for planning and hosting the most authentic Kentucky Derby party experience, is the “Bring the Derby Home!” Sweepstakes presented by Woodford Reserve. The grand prize is a doozy.
In fact, in this second year of the contest, it's been enhanced so that one lucky winner will enjoy a prize package which includes a catered Derby Party for 40 of his or her closest friends, 47” Toshiba Flat Screen TV, official Kentucky Derby 138 party supplies and a Derby outfit for the host provided by vineyard vines, the Official Style of the Kentucky Derby. The total prize package is valued at almost $5,000.
“Our fans want to experience the Kentucky Derby wherever they are around the world and that’s why we are continuing to fill KentuckyDerbyParty.com full of tasty and traditional recipes from celebrated chefs, sophisticated to chic casual party ideas and a host of favorite Derby drinks to stir and sip.” said Casey Cook Ramage, vice president of brand development and marketing for Churchill Downs.
The interactive site lets visitors register their Derby parties and manage their invitations and RSVPs through a free online party planning tool. A Photo Gallery features pictures of every phase of the Derby, from celebrities on the Red Carpet to cuisine on Millionaire’s Row; from inside the Finish Line Suites to the infield; from the hats to the heels.
One new feature of the 2012 site is party planning tips provided by experts in their field to assist in planning the most authentic Kentucky Derby Party. Among others, Tim Laird of Brown-Forman will serve up some signature cocktail suggestions for party planners; Chef Jo-Jo Doyle of Churchill Downs will dish out culinary tips ranging from recipes to cuisine presentation advice; vineyard vines will blog their best fashion advice; and Jill Byrne will keep party planners up to date on action at the track and how to handicap for the big day.
“The Kentucky Derby is such a festive event, and now planning the perfect party at home is easier than ever,” said Laura Petry, Woodford Reserve brand manager. “Woodford Reserve is excited to help bring the ultimate Derby party to your door.”
All U.S. residents (excluding CA) at least 21 years of age who register their Derby Party before April 26 will be entered in the exciting “Bring the Derby Home!” Sweepstakes and eligible to win.
