Creative Cause will break from post 2 in the Grade II San Vicente, but Joel Rosario says he doesn't think that will be a problem -- as long as the colt takes up where he left off.

In fact, Rosario said he feels the 3-5 morning line favorite is ready for another solid performance, no matter the draw. Six will run in the San Vicente, and it's Creative's Cause's 2012 debut.

“I don’t think the post will be a problem,” said Rosario, who, through Friday, had opened a 42-33 lead over Rafael Bejarano in Santa Anita’s jockey standings. “He’s probably the best horse in the race, so the post position shouldn’t matter.

“If he comes back running the way he did when he left, I think he’s going to be really tough, but no one knows until the race is run. It’s horse racing and no one knows what’s going to happen.”

Creative Cause, a gray son of Giant’s Causeway trained by Mike Harrington, has not raced since finishing third by a length after a wide trip in the Grade I Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. Prior to that, he won the Grade I Norfolk Stakes at Santa Anita by 3 1/4 lengths. Rosario was aboard each time.

“Mike usually leaves strategy up to me,” Rosario said. “Even when I rode him before, he never told me anything. Just ride him and do your thing, and hopefully put him in the winner’s circle.”
