Wynn Odds to Win Triple Crown Released

4/9/2013

If you're leaning in favor of any particular horse for the Kentucky Derby, maybe you'd like to know what Johnny Avello thinks about its odds to win the Triple Crown.

Avello, the Executive Director of the Wynn Las Vegas Race and Sports book, put out a list on Monday naming odds on specific horses to sweep the 2013 Triple Crown. The wagers Wynn offers include this modicum of insurance: if any of the listed horses do not start in the Kentucky Derby, wagers on that horse are refunded.

Verrazano leads the opening line and the current line as of Avello's email to me on Monday. Offered at 10 -1 when the wager opened, he was 12 -1 Monday. Of course, these odds are subject to change at any time without notice.

The longest opening shot offered is Super Ninety Nine at 200-1.  He’s followed by Black Onyx and Mylute, listed at 175-1 at the open -- and a current line of 200-1 on both of them as of Monday.

The second-lowest opening choice was Orb at 18-1, who was 16-1 on Monday.

Revolutionary was the third opening choice at 25-1, moved down to 22-1 Monday.

Normandy Invasion and Itsmyluckyday were 35-1 and 38-1 at the open. While the line on Itsmyluckyday had not changed, Normandy Invasion had moved to 28-1.

Next on the list at the open was Goldencents at 45-1. Some money must have come in on him, and he was 30-1 as of Avello’s email to me.

Other horses of interest – as if they are not all interesting at this point – are Govenor Charlie at 100-1; Oxbow at 125-1 -- moved to 150-1;  and Will Take Charge at 125-1.

Each horse offered by Wynn is listed in the chart below with the odds as of the open and odds as of Monday. Others will be added as things progress.

Avello has put the over and under for the official winning time of the 2013 Kentucky Derby at 2:01.80, and each of those propositions is listed at -110, as are the propositions of whether the winning saddle cloth number will be odd or even.

A proposition on the official win mutuel payoff of the 2013 Kentucky Derby is even-money for "over $19.50" and -120 for "under $19.50".
