The Factor galloped about 1 1/2 mile at Oaklawn Park this morning following his arrival at the track yesterday afternoon.
“We got in a little later than we had expected, but it wasn’t a problem,” said Jim Barnes, Bob Baffert’s assistant trainer who travelled on the three-hour flight from Ontario International Airport. “He got over the track good this morning. He just jumps such a long way out there. He has a huge stride.”
Jeff Bonde's Sway Away was out earlier than The Factor to get a feel for Oaklawn’s surface. Sway Away, owned by a partnership that includes Batman Stable, will be attempting to turn the tables on The Factor after settling for second in their last match-up in the Grade II San Vicente Stakes.
“It was tough for us because of the time change and getting up early, but the horses were no problem,” said assistant trainer Miguel Carranza.
