Pee H Dee and Ring It Up: Lowered Expectations?

Trainer Chris Richard says Pee H Dee and Ring It Up came out of their respective efforts in the two divisions of the Grade III Southwest Stakes in good order, but he may look for easier spots short-term.

Both horses are owned by Jim McIngvale, and didn’t have to compete against each other in the split of the race. Both finished fourth, with Ring It Up finishing 4 1/2 lengths behind Castaway in division one and Pee H Dee eight lengths behind Secret Circle in the second division.

“For Ring It Up, I think he would definitely look at allowance races,” said Richard. “Both horses seemed to run their hearts out, and yet that was the best they could do in there. So I think they may not be quite up to the level for races like that right now. Of course that could change, but I think we will look for something a little easier.”--
