Stable mates Uncle Mo and Stay Thirsty each breezed this morning for trainer Todd Pletcher at Palm Meadows.
They went three furlongs in what was the first workout of 2011 for each of them. Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner Uncle Mo (Looking Good) was timed in :39.95 (5/5). Stay Thirsty (Worth Watching), who was off the board in the Juvenile, was clocked three seconds faster in :36.95. Neither colt had put in a move since the Nov. 7 Juvenile.
Uncle Mo is, according to owner Mike Repole, being pointed to the Grade III Tampa Bay Derby for his 2011 debut. Repole said Stay Thirsty would start next in the Grade III Gotham at Aqueduct. Both races are in March.
Another Pletcher 3-year-old on our lists to work at Palm Meadows today was Masterpiece (Worth Watching), five furlongs in 1:02.60 (18/23), breezing. Masterpiece has raced only once. It was his fourth breeze of the year and sixth since returning to the worktab in December.
Pletcher formerly Brethren (Looking Good), but WinStar Farm's website says Richard Budge is now the trainer. He put in his fifth workout of the year, covering five furlongs in 1:02.20 (12/23), breezing. Brethren last raced on Nov. 27, winning a one-mile allowance at Churchill Downs impressively.
