Uncle Mo Breezes Five at PMM

2/27/2011

It was a busy morning at Palm Meadows for trainer Todd Pletcher, with workouts from his stable led by Uncle Mo. The 2-year-old champ of 2010 worked five furlongs in a bullet 1:00.60 (1/27), breezing, once again in company with stablemate Stay Thirsty, who went in an identical time.

Uncle Mo will be entered in the $100,000 Timely Writer overnight stakes at one mile on Mar. 12 at Gulfstream Park, and connections will find out if the race fills. Stay Thirsty (Worth Watching) is expected for this Saturday's Grade III Gotham Stakes going 1 1/16 mile at Aqueduct.

Pletcher also sent out Brethren (Looking Good), who went four furlongs in :49.40 (12/48), breezing. A Kentucky homebred by Distorted Humor, Brethren is undefeated in three starts, including Tampa Bay Downs' Grade III Sam F. Davis Stakes by four lengths on Feb. 12. According to Gulfstream Park, he's expected to return in the Grade II Tampa Bay Derby on March 12.

Also on the tab at Palm Meadows today:

Cal Nation breeze five in 1:02.40 (16/27).
Free Entry breezed four in :49.40 (12/48).
Sweet Ducky breezed six in 1:13.20 (1/1).
