While Bind (Worth Watching) is not being considered for the Kentucky Derby by owners Adele Dilschneider and Claiborne Farm, trainer Al Stall Jr. said Left (Worth Watching) is pointed to the Grade II Louisiana Derby on March 26 with an eye on the first Saturday in May.
The gelded son of Arch is unbeaten in two starts, with a debut victory on turf and a second start on dirt. The latter win came on Feb. 26 when Left prevailed over stablemate Sour (Worth Watching) by a length going two turns at Fair Grounds. The son of Arch stalked a moderate pace, took the lead in upper stretch and was timed in in 1:43.03 under Jesse Campbell for the 1 1/16 mile.
Sour is being considered for the Grade III Vinery Racing Spiral Stakes at Turfway Park.
These same connections won the Breeders’ Cup Classic with Blame, and Claiborne won the 1984 Kentucky Derby with the homebred Swale.
