Flashpoint Works Six at GP

3/24/2011

Flashpoint was on the Gulfstream Park worktab today and went six furlongs in 1:13.60 for trainer Rick Dutrow.

He was being prepared for either the Grade II Swale or Grade I Florida Derby.

The roan/gray colt by Pomeroy has flashed brilliance in his two career starts, winning his debut at Aqueduct on Jan. 15 by 6 1/4 lengths going six furlongs and the Grade II Hutcheson Stakes at seven furlongs at Gulfstream on Feb. 26 by 7 1/4 lengths. He was ridden both times by jockey Cornelio Velasquez.

There was no immediate word this morning about when a decision would be made by the connections of Flashpoint.
