The late nomination phase for the Triple Crown will close at midnight ET this Saturday.
The cost to nominate a 3-year-old to the Triple Crown races in the late nomination stage is $6,000 per horse. Early nominations to the Triple Crown closed on Saturday, Jan. 22 with 364 3-year-old Thoroughbreds made eligible to compete in the three-race series. Early Triple Crown nominations required a fee of $600.
Trainers and owners who wish to make their horses eligible in the late nomination phase can do so online at www.thetriplecrown.com, or by contacting the racing offices at the three Triple Crown tracks. Contacts at the individual tracks include:

After the late nomination deadline, owners and trainers will have one opportunity to make their horses eligible to run in the Kentucky Derby. Supplemental nominations can be made at the time of entry on Wednesday, May 4 at a cost of $200,000, which 10% of the $2 million guaranteed purse. Preference will be given to horses made eligible during the early and late nomination phases over supplemental nominees.
