Zito Thrilled with Dialed In Workout

Dialed In put in a half-mile workout in thick fog today at Gulfstream Park, and when he was finished, Nick Zito was happy with what he saw on his stopwatch.

Dialed In came into view and powered past Miner’s Escape to finish seven lengths ahead of his workmate.

“This is the most important thing. This is the last eighth,” said Zito as he held out a stopwatch with 11:04 digitally displayed. “Did you see how he explodes? You see, he wants to come from behind. He wants to come from out of it. I got a headache from it, I was so excited--knock on wood.”

Dialed In, who was ridden by exercise rider Maxine Correa, was clocked in :47.55. It was his last workout before the Florida Derby and his first since finishing second in a short-field allowance race. The son of Mineshaft captured the Grade III Holy Bull Stakes at Gulfstream in his second start.

“I hope he has a good week next week and get him there, and we’ll be happy,” Zito said.
