Master of Hounds Still on Track After Work Today

5/24/2011

Master of Hounds worked today in Ireland and remains on track for the Belmont Stakes.

Trainer Aiden O'Brien's wife tweeted today, "Master Of Hounds worked well this morning and is on target for the Belmont Stakes on June 11," according to a story at RacingPost.com.

Master of Hounds was already considered unlikely to run in the Investec Derby at Epsom on June 4. His futures price is 33-1.

Trained by Aidan O'Brien, the son of Kingmambo began 2011 by finishing second in the UAE Derby. He was fifth in the Kentucky Derby, tean 5 1/2 lengths by Animal Kingdom.

The last Irish import to win the Belmont Stakes was Go And Go in 1990. Mick Kinane rode him for trainer Dermot Weld. Garrett Gomez rode Master of Hounds in the Kentucky Derby.
