Kentucky Derby and Horse Racing at The Downey Profile®

Watching and Waiting: Changes to Our Lists

1/27/2012

By Dick Downey

We'll start off with Tizanexpense and Blingo, who were added to Just In Case.

Tizanexpense (Just In Case) won an off-the-turf mile and 70 yard allowance at Fair Grounds yesterday.

Blingo (Just In Case) was suggested by a reader. While he looks like he's cut out to be a turf horse, in the Grade I CashCall in December he did finish well after getting hammered at the start.

Basmati (Worth Watching) was taken off the Derby Trail after reportedly undergoing ankle surgery.

Barring something that could have taken place this morning, I'm still looking for a workout by, among others, Dullahan (Looking Good), Gemologist (Looking Good) and Sabercat (Looking Good). Dullahan hasn't been seen on the worktab since Jan. 14. Gemologist and Sabercat haven't worked this year.

Meanwhile, Ever So Lucky (Looking Good) may breeze for the first time this year over the weekend.

Finally, Souper Speedy (Worth Watching) put in his second breeze of the year -- we thought it was his first when this was originally posted -- but he only went three furlongs.
