More Added to Union Rags' Readiness

Bit by bit, Union Rags is being prepared for his first start of 2012. Today at Gulfstream Park, he schooled in the paddock and walking ring.

While trainer Michael Matz looked on, the Grade I Champagne winner and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile runner-up schooled during the second race after being vanned from Palm Meadows Training Center.

“Everything has gone about as good as it could so far,” Matz said. “From the time he spent at Skara Glen Farm in Wellington until he came back to us at Palm Meadows, he hasn’t missed a beat. Every workout has gone on schedule.”

Matz said Union Rags' (Looking Good) last work before the Grade II Fountain of Youth, set for Feb. 26, will take place Sunday at Palm Meadows.
