Dominguez Still Hoping to Get Back Soon

3/21/2012

Agent Steve Rushing said that Ramon Dominguez, regular rider of Hansen, spoke with his physician Wednesday and still believes he might only be out of action for two weeks. That would make him good to go in the Grade I Wood Memorial.

Initial X-rays showed a dislocated, but not fractured, clavicle -- or collarbone. That was followed by more diagnostic testing.

“Ramon had an MRI on Tuesday, spoke to his doctor today, and they are confident that he can be back within two weeks,” Rushing said.

That timeframe would get Dominguez back to the races in time to ride Hansen in the Wood on April 7 -- 17 days away.

During his time off, Dominguez will attend his first National Hockey League game. He plans to be at Madison Square Garden on Friday night to watch the New York Rangers host the Buffalo Sabres. Dominguez will sit down for a television interview with analyst Al Trautwig to discuss Wood Memorial Day at Aqueduct, which will air during the second intermission on MSG2.
