Kentucky Derby and Horse Racing at The Downey Profile®

The pipeline to the Kentucky Derby is really narrowing down now, but we still have the Grade I Toyota Blue Grass, Grade I Arkansas Derby, Grade III Coolmore Lexington and Grade II Jerome coming up. And at this point, you can't completely count out the Grade III Derby Trial from having an impact on the Derby starting gate.

Looking Good

Added Back

Done Talking was deleted from Worth Watching after he lost the Grade III Gotham by 20 3/4 lengths. Now he's in the Kentucky Derby after winning the Grade III Illinois Derby.

We've moved Isn't He Clever and Optimizer to Worth Watching. They're ranked 24th and 25th in graded stakes earnings, but both will have a chance to make more in Saturday's Grade I Arkansas Derby.

Worth Watching

Trinniberg was late-nominated and put in the Bay Shore with an eye on the Preakness. He won easily and is now being considered for the Kentucky Derby. His owner said on Saturday there's a 15% chance, but the allure is powerful.

As of this writing, Battle Hardened is showing no works since disappointing in the Grade II Tampa Bay Derby on March 10.

Midnight Transfer finished seventh in the Grade I Santa Anita Derby after a wide trip. He was beaten 9 1/2 lengths.

My Adonis chased the pace in second only to finish seventh, beaten 9 1/4 lengths in the Grade I Wood Memorial. This was only his second bad race, looking a lot like his effort in the Grade III Delta Jackpot.

Our Entourage prompted the pace and led into the stretch, but he pooped out and finished fifth, beaten 4 1/2 lengths in the Illinois Derby.

Pretension checked in ninth in the Illinois Derby, beaten 13 1/4 lengths.

Just In Case

Russian Greek was added back after his Russian-born owner turned him over to Russian-born trainer Gennadi Dorochenko. He's headed for the Grade I Blue Grass.

American Act hasn't put in a workout lately and wasn't entered in the Santa Anita Derby.

Brother Francis finished fifth, beaten six lengths in the Santa Anita Derby.

Casual Trick was added back due to his entry in the Wood Memorial, then deleted for the second time. He didn't finish the race.

Currency Swap was roughed up and finished eleventh, beaten 20 3/4 lengths in the Illinois Derby

Longview Drive ran in third position and moved to second after six furlongs, then backed up to last, beaten 10 3/4 lengths in the Santa Anita Derby.

The Lumber Guy set the pace while rank and finished fifth, beaten 6 1/4 lengths in the Wood Memorial.

We previously overlooked the fact that Right to Vote wasn't late-nominated to the Triple Crown.

Ring It Up was a six-length sixth in the Illinois Derby.

Senor Rain was in contention early but finished eighth, beaten 10 1/4 lengths in the Santa Anita Derby.

Street Life was named to this list for the Wood Memorial, then deleted after finishing sixth, beaten 7 1/4 lengths. An owner had said he "will win" the Wood.

Tiger Walk was named to this list for the Wood Memorial, then deleted after running fourth, beaten five lengths.
