Updated 9:05 a.m. ET & 10:20 a.m. ET & 7:43 p.m.

Today at Churchill Downs, Daddy Nose Best and Sabercat breezed early, with others still to come.

Daddy Nose Best breezed six furlongs in 1:14.00 (1/2) before dawn. It was his third workout, all of them coming at Churchill Downs, since he won the Grade III Sunland Derby.

Working outside stable mate Z Dager, Daddy Nose Best's splits were :13.00, :25.40, :37.60, :50.00 and 1:01.80. He galloped out seven furlongs in 1:27.20. The two started out on even terms, and Daddy Nose Best was a length ahead at the finish. Z Dager was timed in 1:14.20.

After the sun rose but before the renovation break, Sabercat worked five furlongs in 1:02.80 (19/31), breezing, outside Major Hope. Like Daddy Nose Best's move, Sabercat started on even terms with his work mate and finished a length ahead. His splits were :13.40, :26.00, :38.40 and :50.60. His gallop-out went in 1:16.40.

This was Sabercat's first workout since taking third in the Grade I Arkansas Derby on April 14.

At Calder Race Course this morning, Trinniberg was initially reported to have breezed five furlongs in 1:02.40 with splits caught in :25.80, :38.60 and :50.60, out six in 1:15.40 with Jose Alvarez up. Ed DeRosa tweeted that clocker Joe Savage said the move was "very EZ." Later in the day, Equibase reported that it was a six-furlong move in  1:15.40.

Trinniberg was last seen winning the Grade III Bay Shore going seven furlongs on April 7.

At 8:30, during the special Derby/Oaks training time, Mark Valeski and Optimizer worked in Louisville.

Mark Valeski, in his first workout since the Grade II Louisiana Derby, went five furlongs in :59.60 (2/31) to the outside of 3-year-old Hamiltonian that was timed in 1:00.00. Mark Valeski's splits were :12.60, :24.20, :36.00 and :47.40. He galloped out six in 1:14.60. He started the move a length behind Hamiltonian and finished a length in front.

Optimizer, who needs defections to make the Derby, was timed in :48.60 (6/45) for four furlongs. His fractions were :12.00, :24.20 and :36.60, out five furlongs in 1:02.40. Optimizer finished a disappointing ninth in the Arkansas Derby.
