During the morning's reserved time for Derby/Oaks contenders, Bodemeister worked in company at Churchill Downs for trainer Bob Baffert.
Breaking off a length behind workmate Jemima's Pearl, Bodemeister breezed five furlongs in 1:00.80. His splits were :12.80, :25.00, :36.80 and :48.80, and he galloped out six furlongs in 1:13.00, seven in 1:27.60.
The work began at the 4 1/2-furlong pole and ended a half-furlong beyond the finish line, just into the second turn. Bodemeister started the move four lengths back of his work mate and finished on even terms.

Mamma Kimbo, a Kentucky Oaks contender trained by Baffert, also breezed five furlongs, and she broke off for her move at the same spot Bodemeister did. She was timed in 1:01.80 with splits of :12.20, :24.40, :37.00 and :49.00. She was out six furlongs in 1:15.00, seven in 1:28.20.
Pat Forde of ESPN tweeted that after walking back to his barn 33, Baffert was "being Baffert" when he grabbed his chest and feigned a collapse.
After things calmed down, Baffert told tweeter Jennie Rees of the Courier-Journal and others that Liaison will start in the Kentucky Derby, that he "hated" the Santa Anita surface. Martin Garcia has been named to ride Liaison.
Liaison arrived at Churchill Downs on Monday. He last worked out on April 18, breezing six furlongs in 1:13.00 (3/19) at Hollywood Park.
At Hollywood Park, Creative Cause worked five furlongs without blinkers in 1:00.20 (5/35). Hollywood Park clockers said Creative Cause posted fractions of :12.00, :23.80, :35.60 and :48.20 before galloping out six furlongs in 1:14.00.
