Kentucky Derby and Horse Racing at The Downey Profile®

Breeze for Pletcher Pair Moved Back

4/28/2012

By Dick Downey

It's back to the future at Palm Meadows. Todd Pletcher has reversed course again and will wait until Sunday to breeze Gemologist and El Padrino. The pair galloped today at Palm Meadows.

Pletcher had previously said he'd send them out on Sunday, then yesterday he changed it to Saturday -- but Mother Nature changed his plans when it rained hard at about 6:00 this morning.

Ironically, Pletcher has kept these horses at Palm Meadows instead of bringing them to Kentucky because he felt he could count on the weather there. Several Kentucky Derby horses have works planned today at Churchill Downs, and Hansen is set to breeze across town at Trackside.

Gemologist and El Padrino are due to arrive at Churchill Downs on Tuesday.
