In a flurry of activity, Four Kentucky Derby contenders worked at Churchill Downs this morning: Dullahan, Prospective, Went the Day Well and Union Rags. All of them came out during the post-renovation break time reserved for Derby and Oaks horses. Hansen breezed at Trackside.
Dullahan, winner of the Grade I Toyota Blue Grass for trainer Dale Romans, worked alone going five furlongs in 1:01.20 (9/53). His splits were :11.80, :23.80 and :36.00, and he galloped out six furlongs in 1:15.80. Tammy Fox was in the irons on Dullahan.
Prospective worked in company with Moon Traveler, outfinishing him by three lengths. His time for five furlongs was 1:01.20 (9/53), with fractions of :12.20, :24.80, :36.80 and :49.00. He galloped out six in 1:14.80. Trained by Mark Casse, Prospective was last seen finishing sixth in the Grade I Toyota Blue Grass.
Union Rags worked solo with a five-furlong move in :59.80 (3/53). Before galloping out six in 1:13.80, his internal fractions were :12, :23.60 and :47.20. Michael Matz trains Union Rags, most recently third in the Grade I Florida Derby. Julien Leparoux was on Union Rags.

Went the Day Well, working with blinkers, drew off from his company, Crimson China, in a time of 1:01.00 (6/53) for five furlongs. His splits were :12.40, 24.60, 36.60 and 48.80, and he galloped out six furlongs in 1:14.60. Went the Day Well won the Grade III Spiral Stakes for trainer Graham Motion in his last race. John Velazquez was aboard today. After starting a length behind Crimson China, he was three lengths ahead at the finish of the work.
Across town at Trackside, Hansen breezed five furlongs in 1:01.20 (2/5). Clockers caught his fractions in :12.20, :24.60, :36.80 and :49.20, out six furlongs in 1:15.20. He had Derby Kittten has a target, going the last two furlongs in company. Hansen comes into the Kentucky Derby off a second-place finish in the Toyota Blue Grass and will be brought over to Churchill Downs on Wednesday.
