Kentucky Derby and Horse Racing at The Downey Profile®

Fury Kapcori Out of Lewis

1/27/2013

Without elaborating, trainer Jerry Hollendorfer told DRF.com on Sunday that Fury Kapcori will miss the Grade II Robert Lewis Stakes on Feb. 2.

Hollendorfer said "he's got a little problem" that "might cost him some time."

The son of Tiznow was last seen running second to Violence in the Grade I CashCall Futurity on Dec. 15 at Betfair Hollywood Park. He returned to the worktab two weeks later and had put in four workouts in four weeks at Hollywood, the last one coming on Jan. 19.

Entries for the 1 1/16-mile, $200,000 Lewis close at Santa Anita on Wednesday. The race is worth a total of 17 points on the Road to the Kentucky Derby, with 10 points going to the winner.
