WinStar Farm has returned its Fantasy Derby contest, free for racing fans and offering winning prizes.

Fantasy Derby 2013, part of WinStar StableMates, allows each fan to name his or her own Fantasy Stable, and then select horses in different categories, all with the goal of establishing the winning stable.

Elliott Walden, CEO of WinStar Farm, sees Fantasy Derby 2013 as another step in WinStar Farm’s broad desire to engage with ever more racing fans and Thoroughbred enthusiasts through WinStar StableMates.

“This contest makes it really easy for fans to get interested in the Derby Prep races, and get to know and follow the horses who are on the Derby watch lists,” said Walden. “WinStar is committed to being a leader not only on the track and in breeding, but in all efforts in lifting the profile of Thoroughbred racing, especially connecting with our great fans through WinStar StableMates. The contest is easy and fun to play, and the prizes we are offering should appeal to even the most casual racing fan.”

Winners will be determined by who has the most Fantasy Stable earnings through the contest period. First Prize is two box seat tickets to the 2013 Kentucky Derby, second prize is two box seat tickets to the 2013 Kentucky Oaks, and the third prize is a Distorted Humor halter. All three of the top prizes also include a behind-the-scenes VIP guided tour of WinStar Farm for up to four people, a WinStar gift basket, and a complimentary WinStar Stablemates Grade II Membership for all of 2013. Fans must enter and have until noon, Saturday, Feb. 2 to select their Stable to play and be eligible to win the prizes. Entry is quick and easy, and Fantasy Derby 2013 is free to play. Fans can register to play at http://stablemates.winstarfarm.com/derby and then it's up to the player to win.
