Thursday's Update Highlights

2/7/2013

Highlights from updates to our Looking Good, Worth Watching and Just In Case pages. Refer to those pages for more details.

Bob Baffert's BELVIN (Just In Case) Wednesday worked for the fifth time since Jan. 7, five in :59.20 (1/52) at SA. San Vicente next.

Dallas Stewart's GOLDEN SOUL (Just In Case) Wednesday worked for the first time since running second in the Lecomte, five in 1:00.60 (2/21) at FG.

Shug McGaughey's ORB (Worth Watching) Wednesday breezed for first time since his Jan. 26 allw win, three in :37.20 (5/12) at PAY.

“OXBOW (Worth Watching) is just super right now,” said Wayne Lukas on Wednesday. “He’s really an amazing horse with the way he trains.”

Lukas on TITLETOWN FIVE (Just In Case): “He’s been galloping beautifully and he looked wonderful working the other morning. We are playing catch up. We know that. But it’s been my experience that horses with that kind of talent, it doesn’t take them as long to get back where they were. Horses without that kind of talent you have to work on and work on, but he’s got that gift. So, we are obviously coming along late to the party, but we are looking at mid-March and seeing where we are at. If he can come back to his form, he’s going to be something special.”

Tony Dutrow's WHISKEY ROMEO (Just In Case) was back on the tab for the second straight week Wednesday, breezing four in :48.00 (1/14) at PMM.

Correction about TESSERON (Worth Watching). He did not miss a breeze at the end of January. Our service missed it. On Jan. 28, Tesseron breezed five in 1:01.00 (4/18) at PMM.

Jerry Hollendorfer's ZEEWAT (Worth Watching) Wednesday worked for the fourth time since winning Cal Derby on Jan. 12, six in 1:16.00 (1/2) at GG.
