Kentucky Derby and Horse Racing at The Downey Profile®

Itsmyluckyday Back on Worktab

By Dick Downey

Itsmyluckyday was sent out Saturday to breeze four furlongs at Calder by trainer Eddie Plesa, Jr. It was his first official move since winning the Grade III Holy Bull Stakes on Jan. 26.

The workout was timed in :48.80 (3/55), and Plesa said he was pleased.

“It was exactly what I was looking for,” said Plesa. “I got him galloping out in 1:01. He’s right on schedule. He’ll probably work about every seven days, although I might change it up on him one of those times with an easy mile work. I haven’t decided.”

Regular exercise rider Isidorio Ramos handled the breeze.

Plesa has Speak Logistics in Saturday's Grade II Besilu Stable Fountain of Youth. Itsmyluckyday is being pointed to the Grade I Besilu Stable Florida Derby on March 30.
