3/24/2013

Highlights from updates to our Looking Good, Worth Watching and Just In Case pages. Refer to those pages for details.

Kelly Breen's BLACK ONYX (Looking Good), winner of the Spiral, won't be wasting any time getting to Churchill Downs. He's going this week. He was late-nonimated to the Triple Crown.

Graham Motion's CROP REPORT (Worth Watching), winner of the Rushaway Stakes, may go next in the Peter Pan en route to the Belmont Stakes, per a tweet by Marty McGee.

Kiaran McLaughlin's ELNAAWI (Worth Watching) Saturday put in his second work since third in the Gotham, five on the training track in 1:02.40 (8/33) at BEL.

Ken McPeek's JAVA'S WAR (Worth Watching) Saturday put in his first work since he ran second in the Tampa Bay Derby on March 9, four in :49.00 (20/53) at GP.

Todd Pletcher's MICROMANAGE (Just In Case) keeps plugging along, Saturday breezing five in 1:02.80 (27/31) at PMM.

Chad Brown's NOBLE TUNE (Worth Watching) Saturday put in his first work since winning a turf allowance at Tampa on March 9, four in :49.80 (35/55) at PMM.

Gary Contessa's RYDILLUC (Worth Watching) Saturday breezed seven furlongs on the turf in 1:30.18 (1/1) at PMM, his first since winning the March 3 Palm Beach.

Al Stall, Jr.'s SUNBEAN (Worth Watching), who was late-nominated for the Triple Crown, Saturday breezed four in :49.20 (12/70) at Fair Grounds. We are told that Stall's DEPARTING (Worth Watching) was also late nominated.

LISTS

Promoted Black Onyx from Just In Case to Looking Good. A classic case of "A Good Horse Can Come from Anywhere".

Deleted My Name Is Michael from Just In Case after he finished eighth in the Spiral. Here's what Joel Rosario had to say: “He was taking a little time to get going in the first turn. Past the turn, he was fine after that, but when we went into the second turn it took him a lot of time to really get into the race. I was working to hold him together and keep him going, but it was probably not his day.”

Deleted My Capo Bastone from Worth Watching after he finished ninth in the Spiral.

Deleted General Election from Just In Case after he finished tenth in the Spiral.

Deleted Balance the Books from Worth Watching after he finished eleventh in the Spiral.

Deleted Mac the Man from Just In Case after he finished twelfth and last in the Spiral.

Deleted Carried Interest from Just In Case. He lost a one-turn Gulfstream Park allowance Saturday at 1-9 odds.
