Kentucky Derby and Horse Racing at The Downey Profile®

UAE Derby Update -- Wednesday

3/26/2014

Wednesday notes from Meydan Racecourse about Saturday's race.

King Rubi (GB) -- He was the first French invader to make it to the track on Wednesday morning. He chose the moment it rained hardest, but his rider Daniel Cooper was happy with his morning workout when he said: “I cantered him half way round and then I just let him go a little faster over 400 meters. It was just a lung opener really. He seems really well within himself.”

Toast of New York (USA) -- Toast of New York had an easy canter on the all-weather surface.  “I’m very happy with him,” a smiling trainer Jamie Osborne said as he left the track.

Asmar (IRE) – Based at Desert Stables in Al Quoz, he cantered one lap of the dirt track this morning and is reported by connections to be very well. He's the Al Bastakiya winner.

End track notes.
