Pletcher Trio Breeze Toward Kentucky Derby

By Dick Downey

Constitution, Intense Holiday and We Miss Artie returned to the worktab at Palm Meadows Training Center on Sunday, and Todd Pletcher talked about travel plans from Florida.

Undefeated in three career starts at Gulfstream Park, Constitution breezed a leisurely four furlongs in :50.60 (17/17).

“It was the exact same time he had in his first breeze after his allowance win, so we’re very pleased with that,” trainer Todd Pletcher said. “He went alone. He did it in relaxed fashion. The horse was moving super.”

Intense Holiday and We Miss Artie worked in company, going four panels in :48.90 (7/17).

“I thought both horses worked well,” Pletcher said. “They galloped out strongly. They looked good.”

“All three of those horses, if the weather cooperates, will breeze back here next Sunday and go to Churchill on the 22nd and have their final breeze at Churchill,” the trainer said.
