Seven Work Sunday at Churchill

Seven Kentucky Derby contenders breezed Sunday at Churchill Downs: Chitu, Danza, Vinceremos, Intense Holiday, We Miss Artie, Ride On Curlin and Wildcat Red.

Chitu worked six furlongs in company with Party Time from the gate, around the first turn and up the backside in 1:13.20. His splits were :24.40, :36.20, :47.80 and 1:00.20. He galloped out seven furlongs in 1:27.20. Ron Mitchell of Blood-Horse tweeted shortly afterward that trainer Bob Baffert said Chitu lost a shoe during the move.

Todd Pletcher's foursome were next to go.

Danza and Vinceremos went four furlongs in company, with the former to the outside. Danza was timed in :48.80, out five in 1:01.80 and six in 1:16. Vinceremos went in :49.00, out five in 1:02. Splits were :12.80 and :25.00.

Intense Holiday and We Miss Artie followed up, also at four furlongs. On the outside, Intense Holiday was timed in in :48.60, out five furlongs in 1:00.80 and six in 1:16.80. We Miss Artie went in :49.20, out five in 1:02.40. Initial splits were :13.00, and 25.00.

Wildcat Red breezed five furlongs in 1:04.20 with splits of :13.20, :25.80, :38.80 and :51.20; he went out six furlongs in 1:20.60.

Ride On Curlin went last of the group, seven furlongs solo in 1:29.00 with splits of :14.00, :27.20, :39.40, :51.60 and 1:16, out a mile in 1:43.20.
