Most wagering data showed an increase on Kentucky Derby day at Churchill Downs.
On-track wagering on the Kentucky Derby totaled $11.9 million, an increase of four percent from the 2013 total. On-track wagering on the Derby program of $23.4 million was an 11 percent increase from 2013, when attendance was on the decline due to rainy weather. Attendance on Saturday was 164,906, the second highest figure ever, and an increase of 8.8% from 2013, when the number was 151,616.
Wagering from all-sources on the Kentucky Derby day card totaled $186.6 million, an increase of one percent over the 2013 total of $184.6 million and tying the all-time record set in 2012. All-sources wagering on the Kentucky Derby itself declined one percent to $129.2 million.
