Itsaknockout breezed Sunday at Palm Beach Downs, going four furlongs in company with maiden winner Khozan, and Todd Pletcher declared him ready for the 1 1/16-mile Fountain of Youth Stakes.

The Pletcher pair were clocked in :48.80 (9/18).

“I thought he breezed well,”Pletcher said of the Starlight Racing colt. “Pretty much everything has gone according to plan since his allowance win.”

Itsaknockout, a son of Lemon Drop Kid, is two-for-two in his career after posting back-to-back victories at Gulfstream Park. In his career debut on Dec. 7, he prevailed after a stretch duel, holding off a late surge from stable mate Old Mountain Lane. Four weeks later, he won a one-mile allowance by a widening 5 1/4 lengths.

“We were hoping for that, based on the way he trained,” Pletcher said. “We thought he would run well. It was every bit as good as we’d hoped for.”

Pletcher said Itsaknockout is uncomplicated from a training perspecitve.

“I think he’s developed well physically,” he said.“He’s done well mentally. He’s always been a straightforward horse. He’s gotten a little bit bigger and stronger. He’s actually gained weight since his last race. He’s a pretty easy horse to train. He does whatever you ask him to do. He’s push button to that point. This will be the class test that will kind of define where he is.”

Itsaknockout was bred with two turns in mind, and Pletcher said he isn't "at all" concerned about the distance of the Fountain of Youth.
