Luck of the Kitten Returns in Transylvania

Luck of the Kitten, runner-up in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf, heads a field of seven entered for Wednesday’s Transylvania Stakes at 1 1/16 mile on turf.

Originally scheduled for April 3, the Transylvania was one of four races canceled that afternoon because of inclement weather -- the first cancellations in Keeneland's history.

Trained by Wesley Ward, Luck of the Kitten will be making his 2015 debut in the race. Mike Smith has the mount Wednesday and will break from post 1.

Luck of the Kitten was entered for the April 3 race as was Paul Pompa Jr.’s Night Prowler and four other horses that will come back Wednesday.

Chad Brown's Night Prowler won the Dania Beach at Gulfstream Park in January and was fifth as the favorite in his most recent start in the Palm Beach Stakes. Javier Castellano has the mount and will break from post 2.

The field for the Transylvania, from the rail: Luck of the Kitten (Smith, 123 pounds), Night Prowler (Castellano, 118), Majestico (James Graham, 118), Tuba (Florent Geroux, 118), Saham (Paco Lopez, 118), Top of the Page (Corey Lanerie, 118) and A Lot (John Velazquez, 118).
