Cafe Pharoah and Tagano Beauty came from next-to-last and last in the backstretch to finish one-two at 2-1 and 3-1 odds in a field of 14. Yaugau and Longonot finished third and fourth.

All four of the top finishers were bred in Japan and are nominated to the Triple Crown.

Distance: One-turn mile. Winning time: 1:37.70. Margins: 1 1/4, 2 1/2, 1/2.

Winner's sire: American Pharoah. Owner: Koichi Nishikawa. Trainer: Noriyuki Hori. Jockey: Mirco Demuro. Breeder: Paul Pompa (KY). Auction: $475,000 OBS March 2019.
