Triple Crown Fantasy League Draft
Here is the order of draft among the 12 teams in the 2021 Triple Crown Fantasy League. I'm keeping their names private, but racing fans would recognize a lot of the players.
Greg "The Commish" Johnson and I are a team, as we have been for many years. Last year, we finished third after I made the first overall pick in the draft and The Commish handled the remaining picks. I took Nadal, and we were cruising because he was the best 3-year-old in the country -- until he was injured. We stayed afloat because Greg picked more horses that earned points than any other team.
This year in the annual hat shake, we drew last in the first round, which is tough. The draw is down-and-up-the-ladder, so our overall draft picks were numbers 12 and 13, numbers 36 and 37, numbers 60 and 61, etc. Greg and I divided the picks the same way we did last year.
Our 2021 team is: Keepmeinmind, Jackie's Warrior, Get Her Number, Irad Ortiz Jr., Spielberg, Santa Cruiser, Perfect Munnings, One Fast Cat, Rebel's Romance and the filly Zaajel. Who knows, maybe she'll run against boys.
